MEDICI COUNTRYSIDE PRIVATE TOUR
Site Specific Art Collections, Open Air Museums and Mannerist Trails in the North Countryside from Florence
A unique walk through site specific art collections in the North of Tuscany where artwork thrives like summer blooms: open-air museum and sculpture parks where site-specific macro installation by international artists dialog with nature.
Situated in the heart of the historical center of Pistoia the Marino Marini Foundation is a museum entirely dedicated to the work of the great Italian sculptor. Here we visit the permanent collection where a large number of sculptures and graphic masterpieces are featured in the fascinating setting of the antique Tau Palace.
Leaving the world behind we enter in the Carmignano and Artimino’s Medici hills to walk among villas declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and masterpieces by Pontormo. On the terrace of a marvelous aristocratic property, we drink a glass of red Carmignano wine and taste the new olive oil produced in the oldest oil mill of the region. To become one with nature, art and myself.
